New City College is seeking an enthusiastic and forward-thinking Sport and Fitness Lecturer to join its Hackney Campus. You will inspire learners through engaging teaching across sport, health and fitness programmes, working with students aged 14–19 and adults from entry level through to Level 3.
This is a permanent, part-time role working 28 hours per week (0.8 FTE). Working days will be discussed during the application process. The actual salary is £28,000–£43,000, based on an FTE salary of £33,400–£52,100, depending on experience.
You should hold a degree or equivalent professional qualification in Sport, Fitness or a related discipline. Teaching or coaching experience in an educational or professional environment is required, alongside strong communication, organisation and collaboration skills. Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK, as visa sponsorship is not available. Appointment is subject to relevant pre-employment and safeguarding checks, including an enhanced DBS check where applicable. CVs will not be accepted.
Deliver engaging lessons across sport, health and fitness programmes, including BTEC and CYQ qualifications at Levels 2 and 3.
Teach and assess learners aged 14–19 and adults from entry level to Level 3.
Provide personal tutoring and support enrichment, career development and learner progression.
Contribute to curriculum development, course coordination and quality assurance.
Build relationships with employers and external organisations to enhance placements and wider opportunities.
Promote inclusive, learner-centred education and collaborate with colleagues to support student success.
