New City College is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Health & Social Care Lecturer to join its Havering Sixth Form team in Hornchurch. You will inspire and support learners studying programmes from entry level to Level 3, delivering high-quality teaching and contributing to ongoing curriculum development.
This is a part-time, casual role offering variable hours in line with curriculum needs. The rate is £30.12 to £46.93 per hour, inclusive of holiday pay, depending on experience and qualifications. The position is available to start as soon as possible.
Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK; visa sponsorship is not available. Appointment will be subject to relevant pre-employment and safeguarding checks, including an enhanced DBS check. The closing date is 3 September 2026 at 8am.
Deliver engaging Health & Social Care teaching and assess learners’ progress effectively.
Plan and develop high-quality lessons, learning resources and curriculum content.
Provide academic and pastoral support that enables learners to achieve their goals and progress.
Maintain appropriate quality standards, records and regulatory compliance.
Collaborate effectively with colleagues and external partners.
Applicants should have experience of teaching or training in Health & Social Care and hold, or be willing to work towards, a recognised teaching qualification. A relevant Health & Social Care qualification is required, while knowledge of biology is desirable. Strong subject knowledge, communication and organisational skills are essential, alongside the ability to motivate learners from diverse backgrounds.
