Electrical Installation Lecturer – FE

About the Role

New City College is seeking a skilled Electrical Installation Lecturer to teach and assess learners at its Loughton campus. You will deliver programmes from Level 1 to Level 3, including apprenticeships, helping learners build the technical knowledge, practical competence and professional standards needed for successful careers in the electrical industry.

This is a permanent, part-time role at 0.5 FTE, with working days and hours agreed in line with curriculum requirements. The full-time equivalent salary is £34,700 to £53,400 per annum, with an actual pro-rata salary of £16,700 to £26,100 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. The successful candidate will start as soon as possible. The closing date is 6 September 2026 at 11:59pm.

Applicants must be qualified electricians with relevant industry experience and hold a current 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification covering BS 7671 and its latest amendment. A recognised teaching qualification, such as AET, DET or PGCE, and an assessor qualification, such as CAVA, are desirable; applicants willing to work towards these qualifications are also encouraged.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging teaching, learning and assessment across Electrical Installation programmes and apprenticeships.

• Track learner progress, provide constructive feedback and support students to achieve their goals.

• Prepare effective schemes of work, lesson resources and assessment plans.

• Maintain accurate learner, assessment and quality-assurance records.

• Work productively with employers, awarding organisations and external partners.

• Contribute to curriculum development and continuous quality improvement.

• Promote safeguarding, equality, diversity and an inclusive learning environment.
