New City College is seeking a skilled Electrical Installation Lecturer to teach and assess learners at its Loughton campus. You will deliver programmes from Level 1 to Level 3, including apprenticeships, helping learners build the technical knowledge, practical competence and professional standards needed for successful careers in the electrical industry.
This is a permanent, part-time role at 0.5 FTE, with working days and hours agreed in line with curriculum requirements. The full-time equivalent salary is £34,700 to £53,400 per annum, with an actual pro-rata salary of £16,700 to £26,100 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. The successful candidate will start as soon as possible. The closing date is 6 September 2026 at 11:59pm.
Applicants must be qualified electricians with relevant industry experience and hold a current 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification covering BS 7671 and its latest amendment. A recognised teaching qualification, such as AET, DET or PGCE, and an assessor qualification, such as CAVA, are desirable; applicants willing to work towards these qualifications are also encouraged.
Deliver engaging teaching, learning and assessment across Electrical Installation programmes and apprenticeships.
Track learner progress, provide constructive feedback and support students to achieve their goals.
Prepare effective schemes of work, lesson resources and assessment plans.
Maintain accurate learner, assessment and quality-assurance records.
Work productively with employers, awarding organisations and external partners.
Contribute to curriculum development and continuous quality improvement.
Promote safeguarding, equality, diversity and an inclusive learning environment.
Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK, as visa sponsorship is not available. Appointment is subject to pre-employment checks, including an enhanced DBS check and relevant safeguarding and suitability checks.
