New City College is seeking a dynamic and driven Digital & IT Work Experience Coordinator to help students gain meaningful workplace experience linked to their curriculum and career ambitions. Based in Tower Hamlets, the postholder will engage employers and coordinate high-quality placements across the Digital and IT curriculum area.
Employer engagement is central to this position. You will develop and maintain productive relationships with local, regional and national organisations through networking, proactive outreach and existing contacts. You will also support students before and during placements, working closely with academic colleagues to ensure work experience complements their learning.
This is a full-time, permanent position with a salary of £36,400–£38,500 per annum, dependent on qualifications and experience. The preferred start date is as soon as possible.
Build and sustain employer relationships to secure appropriate Digital and IT work experience placements.
Coordinate the work experience programme and ensure placements meet the college’s required standards.
Prepare and guide students throughout their placements, responding constructively to any issues that arise.
Collaborate with academic staff to integrate work experience effectively into the curriculum.
Monitor placement quality, evaluate programme outcomes and identify opportunities for improvement.
Maintain organised records and manage multiple employer and student priorities efficiently.
Applicants should be passionate about education and student development, with excellent communication, networking and organisational skills. A proactive approach and the ability to manage competing tasks are essential. Experience in a similar role or educational setting is desirable.
