New City College is seeking two enthusiastic and skilled Multi-Craft Construction Technicians to join its Rainham Campus. This hands-on position supports high-quality teaching and assessment across construction trades within modern, industry-standard workshops.
The role is permanent, working 0.88 FTE, term time only for 40 weeks per year, with an actual salary of £28,600–£32,800 per annum. The successful candidates should be available to start as soon as possible.
Applicants must hold a Level 3 qualification in a relevant trade and demonstrate technical expertise in one or more of the following areas: plumbing, electrical work, brickwork or wood trades. Strong organisation, adaptability and a sound understanding of workshop health and safety are essential.
Prepare tools, materials and equipment for practical lessons, assessments and examinations.
Ensure machinery, tools and workshop resources are safe, functional and accessible to students.
Order, monitor and manage stock, tools and materials.
Maintain and undertake appropriate repairs to workshop equipment.
Support teaching staff and monitor students to encourage safe working practices.
Organise and store equipment in accordance with college procedures.
Dispose of waste materials safely and responsibly.
Help maintain an inclusive, safe and effective learning environment.
