About Tweendykes School

Tweendykes School and Sixth Form is an academy special school in Hull, East Yorkshire, serving approximately 170 pupils aged 3–19. As an all-through specialist setting, it supports children and young people with severe learning difficulties, autism, complex medical needs and communication needs. The school’s ethos centres on safety, dignity, mutual respect and ambitious outcomes, with staff working collaboratively to help every pupil participate, develop confidence and become as independent as possible.

The school is rated Outstanding by Ofsted and is accredited by the National Autistic Society. Its purpose-built facilities are co-located with Winifred Holtby secondary school, providing a specialist environment while supporting links with the wider education community. Tweendykes also shares expertise beyond its own classrooms through outreach services and training for schools and partner organisations. Since joining Humber Education Trust in June 2019, the school has benefited from collaboration and curriculum expertise across primary and specialist settings.
