Westcliff High School for Boys Academy

Westcliff High School for Boys Academy is an Outstanding secondary grammar academy for pupils aged 11 to 18 in Westcliff-on-Sea, Essex. Serving approximately 1,309 pupils, the school has a mixed Sixth Form and combines established traditions with academic ambition. Its ethos centres on high expectations, intellectual curiosity and the provision of a modern, world-class education that enables young people to develop their talents and prepare confidently for future study and employment.

The academy is distinguished by its consistently strong academic culture and rich programme of subject enrichment. Its Design and Technology department has an excellent record, with 88% of the 2025 GCSE cohort achieving grades 7 to 9 and every A-level student attaining grades A* to B. Following a full refurbishment, the department benefits from two workshops, a computer suite, traditional machinery, a laser cutter and 3D printers. Pupils can also participate in Technology, CAD, Robotics and Engineering societies, as well as Arkwright Scholarships, CREST Awards and the Industrial Cadet Gold Award.
