Castle View Academy is seeking a reliable and experienced part-time Cleaner to join its site team in Portsmouth. You will help maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for pupils, staff and visitors across this secondary academy for pupils aged 11 to 16.
This is a part-time, fixed-term position with an advertised actual salary of £707.52 per year. The successful candidate will undertake routine and deep-cleaning duties, use materials and equipment safely, and provide excellent customer care. Flexibility will be required for evening cleaning and deep cleans during school holidays, as directed by the Site Manager.
Previous cleaning supervisory experience, ideally within a school or similar setting, is essential. A BICSc qualification is desirable; however, training will be available for the right applicant.
Complete cleaning duties in line with academy procedures and policies.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout allocated areas of the academy.
Undertake deep cleans and evening cleaning sessions during school holidays and at other times as directed.
Use cleaning equipment and materials correctly, following health and safety requirements, safe working practices and COSHH procedures.
Keep equipment clean and serviceable, reporting faults, accidents and near misses promptly to the Site Manager.
Control and issue cleaning materials and equipment appropriately.
Help maintain sufficient staffing cover and deliver excellent customer care.
Act as a positive role model, coach and motivator for colleagues where required.
Training and support for the successful applicant.
