Arundel Court Primary Academy and Nursery is seeking an exceptional, ambitious and inclusive Headteacher to lead the academy from 1 January 2027. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Headteacher, Deputy Headteacher or aspiring senior leader to shape the next chapter of a well-established Portsmouth primary academy.
The academy includes a successful nursery and a specialist Inclusion Centre supporting children with social, emotional and mental health needs. The successful candidate will provide clear strategic direction, accelerate improvement and ensure that every child is valued, supported and challenged to fulfil their potential.
This is a full-time, permanent role with a salary of ÂŁ80,655 per year. Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK; visa sponsorship is not available.
Provide inspirational, inclusive and child-centred leadership across the academy.
Establish a compelling vision and strategic direction that builds on existing strengths.
Lead the academy’s next stage of improvement through its Journey to Excellence Plan.
Empower staff and pupils to achieve high standards in learning, behaviour and personal development.
Ensure the delivery of an ambitious, engaging and inclusive curriculum across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.
Work collaboratively with pupils, families, governors, Trust colleagues, the University and community partners.
Serve as a visible role model and advocate for the academy and wider Trust.
Contribute expertise to school improvement and system leadership across the Trust.
