Stamford Welland Academy is seeking an enthusiastic IT Support Apprentice to join its knowledgeable and friendly IT team. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a secondary school while completing a nationally recognised Level 3 qualification and developing practical skills, workplace confidence and professional behaviours.
You will act as a first point of contact for routine IT support queries from students and staff, helping the academy maintain reliable day-to-day technology services. The role offers varied experience in a busy educational environment, supported by colleagues who will help you develop your technical and customer-service skills.
The position is 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year, on a two-year fixed-term apprenticeship contract. The salary is £15,400 per year (actual), with an anticipated start date in October 2026.
Provide friendly and responsive first-line IT support to students and staff.
Assist with diagnosing and resolving routine hardware, software and user queries.
Record, prioritise and escalate support requests appropriately.
Develop an understanding of IT support services within an education setting.
Work collaboratively with the academy’s IT team while completing a Level 3 qualification.
Demonstrate punctuality, professionalism, integrity and a solution-focused approach.
Applicants should be educated to GCSE or equivalent level in Maths and English. You will need strong communication and teamwork skills, enthusiasm for IT, ambition, good attendance and an appropriate professional manner. The successful candidate must be eligible to work in the UK; visa sponsorship is not available.
