Cover Supervisor – Secondary

About the Role

Nower Hill High School is seeking a graduate-level Cover Supervisor to join its high-achieving secondary academy in Pinner for an immediate start. This role offers valuable school-based experience for a graduate considering a future career in teaching.

You will independently supervise classes across KS3, KS4 and KS5 during teacher absence, including lessons outside your own subject specialism. You will also be attached to a faculty, where you will help pupils engage with their learning and contribute to the school’s high expectations for achievement and behaviour.

This is a one-year fixed-term, term-time-only contract. Full-time hours are 36 hours per week, 8.15am to 4.30pm, although part-time applications will be considered. The salary is £33,129 per annum, pro rata to £28,335.23 for full-time term-time working.

Previous school experience is not essential, as full training will be provided. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK; visa sponsorship is not available.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise classes independently when the usual teacher is absent.

• Deliver the work and classroom activities prepared for pupils, including across subjects outside your specialism.

• Maintain a purposeful, orderly and inclusive learning environment.

• Support pupils’ learning within an allocated faculty.

• Uphold the school’s high standards for behaviour, engagement and achievement.

• Work effectively with teaching, pastoral and leadership colleagues.
